Beth's Grad Announcement

We've been working on Bethanie's Graduation Announcement.   We came up with two that we are having a hard time deciding which one we like best. . . .

Which do you like best??

Aaron All Tied Up!

Sometimes I really have to watch Steven!

He came in the house and said he needed the camera to take a picture of Aaron...

Apparently he got a hold of his little brother and did this to him!!

I just had to take a picture!!

Fortunately, he didn't just leave him there!

Sometimes, I wonder, if this is what he does when I'm home, what does he do when I'm not!!  Just a scarey thought!!!!

Easter Weekend Part 5

You mean we are not done yet???

Easter Weekend would not be complete without our traditional candy hunt!  Monday night for FHE we hid candy all over the main floor and the kids went around finding it and filling their baskets back up with junk!  Why we do this??, I wonder each year.  As though they don't get enough junk to eat!

After the hunt, Dad set up some Easter Egg Races!  We rolled our eggs down different ramps to see how far we could get them to roll.

Then he put tape on the floor and they had to roll the eggs across the finish line using only their noses!  They really got into that one and did it over and over.

They started timing themselves to see who could get it across the finish line in the best time!  Dad couldn't help his competitiveness, and had to give it a try... He had the record for a little bit, then Emily dethroned him.  I'm not even sure who was the winner by the end.  They had so much fun!

So much so that their eggs were giving out by the time we called it a night!  Emily with egg on her face!!
All I can say is....What a Weekend!!

Easter Weekend Part 4

Finally Easter Morning!

I think I am the meanest Mom in the world!  I didn't let the kids even look at their baskets before church!  Then when we got home I made them take pictures before they could change out of their clothes!

Here's one of  all of us.  The ones that are home now, anyway!  It's strange only having 6 at home!  If you haven't seen the rest of the pics, and want to see them, I've posted them on facebook under my Easter 2011 album.  Check them out there.

When the older kids were little I even made them wait until we ate! I seriously debated making these guys wait, but decided to give in and let them check them out while I finished dinner!

Dee and Charlotte came over for dinner for a yummy dinner.  Everyone else I invited didn't make it.  The kids made it over some time either during the day or weekend.

After dinner, some of us went up to the cemetery to put these fun Easter Lillies on Mom's grave.  When we got there we could see that they have taken the top off to get the date fixed.  It was weird leaving flowers on an unmarked grave.  Anyway, these Lilies are solar Lillies.  During the day, they absorb the sunlight and light up at dusk until they are out of power then, go out.  At least that's what they were supposed to do.  I went up a couple of weeks later, and was sad to find them missing! : (  Oh well, I guess I can't put things I care about up there anymore.

Easter Weekend Part 3

It took some doing, but we finally got them to come in the house.  I coaxed them into coming in by saying they could color easter eggs!

This year because it was so late, we decided to just color them.  The kids seem to really enjoy drawing pictures on them better than actually dyeing them, so that's what we did.

Then of course we picked out our baskets and laid them out to see what goodies we would get the next morning!

Easter Weekend Part 2

Wow!  Where has the month gone??  I'm not sure what happened, but boy, do I have a lot of catching up to do!!

Easter Weekend Part 2...I decided I wanted to get the kids some scooters, I'm not sure exactly why, I just thought they might have fun with them and promote outdoor activity.  Gotta love that!

I decided to give them to them for Easter, but didn't want to give them to them on Sunday when they wouldn't be able to fully enjoy them.  So we gave them to them on Saturday afternoon!  I thought they would like them, but was not prepared for their reactions! Iknow you can't tell by this picture, but they were screaming when we brought them out!!   They were WAY excited!!  I guess they had been on a couple of their cousins scooters, I had no idea, and loved it.  They never said a word to me!  I was glad they were so happy.

I made the mistake of thinking that Emily wouldn't be interested... She actually was quite disappointed she didn't get one, even though she was happy with her straightener.  Since she babysits so much for me and is such a wonderful helper most of the time, I decided to go ahead and find her one too!

Steven, with dad's suggestion, I got him some work out gear!  He was pretty happy with that.

It sure was fun to see them have so much fun!
