Natalie is just too Smart!

I guess I need to re think my gate strategy!

I goofed this first one and turned the camera, but I wanted you to see the ease in how she gets over this gate!

We can't help but wonder if this isn't the first time she decided to try and succeeded in getting over. There's been more than one occasion that we couldn't explain how we found her on the other side of the gate!!

In trying to fix it and get another video we made the mistake of making it into a game, what FUN!!

Then we tried to move the gate and put it up higher. I wish I would have had the camera ready because it was priceless to see her wait patiently for me to put it up and then promptly try to climb it. She went from one side to the other trying to hold onto the wall and put her foot over the top!

Here she is really pouting about it! Watch how she is trying to push it down lower!

And then we walked away thinking we were safe, at least for the time being...

Only 5 minutes later, Where's Nattie Bug???

Sure enough, she made it over again!!

It's a good thing it's time for nap, maybe we can come up with something better by the time she wakes up!? Maybe???

New General Conference Packet

A couple of conferences ago, I received an email that had a General Conference packet in it. It was all about the solemn assembly that was going to take place. It was awesome. Since I have searched and found updated versions.

I was blog hopping and found a link to the person responsible for these wonderful Conference Packets. (Who said blog hopping wasn't beneficial???) I promised I would get this out sooner than the day before like last time...so here it is...

http://coloroftheskyinmyworld.blogspot.com/2009/03/april-general-conference-packet.html

I started printing mine out right away. No more the night before or morning of. I think I will take some to primary too, to share with my new class. (that's a different post)

Feel free to share. From the comments and such I've been reading they have been enjoyed by not only primary age kids, but mutual aged, and even distributed in a singles ward to the single young adults all over the world!!

Enjoy!!

Just a note for anyone not wanting to log into scribd, email me and I will send you the packet in an attachment!

New Look!

Melanie and I have been talking about cutting our hair and donating it for a few weeks now, yesterday we finally acted on all our "talk"!

We both were very nervous about cutting off a whole 10 inches! We were afraid it would be too short. When I got there I decided I didn't care, I was going to do it no matter how short. They told her, hers wouldn't even hit her shoulders, maybe half way down her neck by the time they were finished. So she had to think about it for a little bit. So I went first.

I was very surprised at the results!
From this... To this!

Melanie was trying to decide if she should cut only 7 inches, instead of the 10. The hairdresser told her if she was going to do that much she would regret it if she didn't do the 10 inches. So she thought about it a little more and by the time I was done, she decided to go ahead. They did such a good job. Instead of pulling it back in one pony tail, they put it in 4 sections. By doing this she could minimize what it would take to even it out.

Again we were very pleasantly surprised!

Here's her before and after...

We both are happy campers!!

New Blog to Visit

"Can I Say It??"

Lately, little Nattie Bug has caught the "bug" to want to say the prayer! Whenever it's time to say a prayer she raises her whole arm and we hear her little voice, "Can I say it?". It is so cute!

On Sunday we were in Sacrament Meeting and we had just had some of the bread. I told her to fold her arms, it was time to bless the water...All of a sudden she realized they were going to bless the water, sure enough, her little hand went up and she was saying, "Can I say it?". We couldn't help but start cracking up!!

She's getting to be quite the character!

St. Paddy's Day Dinner

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Several years ago I happened to be grocery shopping on St. Paddy's Day and came across some green french bread. I decided it would be fun to have a "green" dinner to celebrate. We had spaghetti and green garlic bread with green milk to drink. The kids thought it was awesome!

It kind of became a tradition to do each year. One year I found green glazed donuts. There were a couple of years where I had a hard time finding green things to eat. It got to the point where I had to think ahead and order it a week in advance in order to get my hands on some. I think one year I just made a macaroni casserole and dumped some green food coloring in it, green salad with green ranch dressing and can't forget the green milk.

There were a couple years when I didn't do anything and some of the kids mentioned it, what happened to our green dinner. So I almost forgot all about it today. I was out doing my last minute case lot shopping when I realized I needed to come up with a "green" dinner.

I decided since I was experimenting making a lot of my own bread lately, to make my own green french bread. It turned out Great!! We decided today to make french bread pizza with our green french bread. I think the younger kids liked the green milk more than anything. It was hard to convince Kim that it didn't taste any different, just looked different!

Another Birthday????

Yup, we had yet another Birthday! But, we are almost done!

Emily turned 11 years old on Monday!

Does she look happy about it???

I guess I can't really call the waffles and ice cream our traditional birthday breakfast anymore...Emily picked scrambled eggs, sausage and toast!

We decided to make sure everyone had a bike for this summer so we could do some bike rides. Emmy needed one her size, so she went with her Dad to go pick one out!

She wanted to go to the theatre and watch a movie for her activity, but seeing it was a school night we opted to watch one at home. We popped popcorn and watched it on Jon's 64 inch screen! Fun!
Shawn came over and brought her a bike chain and this fun game called Chairs. You stack the chairs on top of each other, kind of like pick up sticks where you pull the sticks out, but this one you stack the chairs until you don't have anymore. If they fall you get all the ones that fall. It turned out to be a fun game!

She chose Chicken Cordon Bleu for dinner. I really have to learn how to make that from scratch, it's just getting way too expensive!! But it was yummy!!

She too, decided that she wanted the peanut butter cup cheesecake bars for her birthday "cake". It was one of the new recipes that I got from that food storage program!

I want Emily to know that I really appreciate her as well. She is turning into quite the little babysitter. She loves to play with and take care of her little sisters. She helps me so much with a big smile on her face! Thanks, my little Emmy Lou, who's not so little anymore. It's amazing to me to think she'll be going into the YW program next year, wow!!

We Love You, Too, Sweetie Pie!!

Happy Birthday, Kimberly!

Last Friday was Kimberly's 9th Birthday! I can't believe it's been a week already!!

She deviated from our traditional birthday breakfast and asked for poached eggs on toast! She ate 4 of them before she claimed to be stuffed! She is definitely is our big eater!!
She decided she wanted to go swimming. So Dad came home early and took who wanted to go. I should have combed out her hair after swimming, But I guess she looks like she had fun at the pool, eh?!!

They all came home to pizza! She opened presents, watched movies, ate pizza and played most of the night! She seemed to have had a Great Day!
She asked for peanut butter cup cheesecake bars instead of cake! Yum!!
I want Kimmie to know that I love her very much. I appreciate how much she tries to be helpful with her little sister and to be obedient! She loves to get Nattie up on Saturday and keep her busy until I finally hear them and get up. She puts her in front of the TV and plays with her. I really appreciate the extra hour of sleep!

We Love you, Sweetie!

Stake Basketball Champions!

I actually feel kind of bad that I didn't go to any of their games before this one, mostly because I didn't know about them. I guess it wasn't important enough for me to be there because Ben didn't tell me about them. I just happen to catch him standing around waiting to leave on Saturday for the BIG game. I did make it to this one, though. It was fun to watch. They did a good job and won! Their first region game is on March 12th!

Being the kind of Mom that I am, I, of course, snapped a couple of pics!! At one point Ben did an awesome three pointer! I didn't catch that one.

Congrats, 20th Ward Teachers/Priests!

Work out!

First of all, I guess I have been neglecting my blog, actually I've been neglecting a lot of things. I hope with the new month that I am back on track again.

I had a couple small clips of another one of our FHE's where for activity we were doing all kinds of exercises. It was pretty funny to watch Nattie do her versions of one handed push ups...

and crunches...

It was amazing to me at how much fun we had doing this. Everyone, all ages and sizes. Everyone was helping everyone else to succeed. At one point they were "bench pressing" each other. I wish I had that on video. They would lay down with their hands up and someone would stand on their hands while others were balancing the one being lifted and they would try to lift them. That was a hoot, especially when Nattie did Ben! Yes, Natalie was on the floor and Ben was on her hands and she was pushing and lifting him up and down! Of course We had 3 other people holding onto him and "helping" her! Not only did she love it, but they all did!!

I just thought it was so cool to see everyone having so much fun doing the same thing!
